Surveillance System Setup using a Power Supply Box
WWW.CCTVCAMERAPROS.COM for more info… Welcome to CCTV Camera Pros Surveillance System Setup Video Instruction Series.
In this video we will demonstrate how to connect a security camera to a surveillance DVR using BNC plug and play CCTV cables and a power distribution box.
The following equipment is used in this video.
* An MPEG-4 Surveillance DVR
* Dome Security Camera
* BNC plug and play cables
* A PT-3 power cable lead which allows us to connect plug and play cables to the power supply box without cutting any wires.
* And a 9 camera DC power supply distribution box. The purpose of the power supply box is to allow you to neatly run all of your security camera power to one central location. Typically the power supply box is mounted to a wall near your DVR.
Step one is to connect the plug and play cable to the DVR.
The male BNC connector on the cable very simple pushes and twists on to the female BNC input on the back of the DVR.
Next, locate the other end of the cable.
Attach the BNC connector to the security camera. It simply pushes and twists on.
Next attach the power side of the cable to the power input of the camera. This simple pushes on.
The other end of our power cable is already attached to a pt-3 power lead and ready to attach to the power box. The pt-3 cable will be labeled with a white line to specify the positive wire. The wires simply screw into place.
The power supply box comes with a power cable just like a computer or monitor power cable that pushes on.
The power box can be plugged into a standard house power outlet and the box easily mounts to a wall using anchors and screws.
We hope that this instructional video was helpful for you to understand how to hook up a security camera to a surveillance dvr using plug and play BNC cables and a power supply distribution box. What are the ways to maximize use of a few CCTV cameras in an area of several buildings?
This should also consider cameras at perimeter fence and junctions. Thanks.
go to www.techcctv.com or give them a call they can help
how much would it cost to install 24 cameras and a dvr at my building?
I need to get an estimate on a CCTV system. I am looking for about 24 cameras and DVR. I am looking for good equipment at a reasonable price. I know this isnt going to be cheap but I havent been able to get a accurate price range.
Costco sells a 16 camera set sometimes from Q-see that is very highly thought of. Q-see also sells the cameras, dvr, home viewing 24/7 from your desk or home computer, and central installation box on their website. I would expect that a system like this, unintstalled, would run $2200-2500. We want to get the set that sees in low light, at night, color not so important, vandalproof, and weather-resistant. Check it out at Costco and Q-see itself.
